Yoga Is A Way Of Life

Find out how you can embrace the lifestyle

It is easy and advisable to let yoga become part of your daily life. Breathing is life and remembering the breathing exercises you learn in yoga can help you immensely.  You can use your breathing exercises in stressful situations at work, at home or anywhere else. I use them every day on the job when I feel overwhelmed or just want to calm down and it works far better than counting to ten!

Yoga Retreat – The Benefits

We love yoga because there truly is no age limit or fitness requirement for it. You can start and work at your own pace and develop through patience and discipline.

Meditate – find that serenity within 2017-10-21T15:30:15+00:00

Traditionally, yoga’s main purpose was to still the mind. While your usual Wednesday evening class might leave you feeling much calmer, a deeper emersion away from the business of everyday life can give you a much deeper insight into the blissful nature of Samadhi – the merging with one and all and dropping of all boundaries.

Improve your health with mudras, kriyas and pranayama 2017-10-21T15:25:52+00:00

Yoga and its sister science, Ayurveda, can be used as a powerful way to improve your immune system and overall health. How do different Yoga poses will affect your liver and spleen? Have you ever learnt and tried adding a powerful kriya (cleansing technique) to your morning routine to boost your digestive juices? Or a bandha to keep energies from leaking from your system? What about specific mudras (subtle energy gestures) to soothe PMS and enhance your wombs’ creative energies or further open your heart’s outreach? Possibilities for optimum health and happiness are limitless and the immersion yoga retreats will allow you to get a much greater grasp on it all.

Dive into the philosophy 2017-10-21T15:19:25+00:00

Whilst mastering the poses is fun and rewarding, there’s so much more to Yoga. The noble eight-fold path subscribed in the Yoga Sutras brought closer by an authentic and inspiring teacher without appointments either end of a yoga class can help you understand and treasure much more of this ancient art of living.

Deepen your asana practice 2017-10-21T15:45:35+00:00

Whether this means finally mastering handstand or simply being able to sit still throughout a whole meditation, the regularity and frequency of classes during a retreat will steepen the learning curve significantly.

Cleanse your colon 2017-12-03T12:35:33+00:00

Often retreats include deliciously healthy meals, with some offering the full cleanse program. This is another way of taking your health and well-being to a whole new level while expanding your food horizon. Often we get stuck in a food routine. A retreat is a chance to break bad habits, open up to new recipes and push your taste buds’ boundaries closer to the wholesome optimum.

There are so many more benefits to this retreat than addressing your weight and weight management.

Make new like-minded friends 2017-12-03T12:17:14+00:00

A retreat joins like-minded people open to share their journeys and learning about yours. Practicing exercises, learning and experiencing new things together for several days or even weeks creates a foundation for friendship hard to topple in a busy everyday life environment. You might even end up supporting each other and sharing progress back home.

Travel inside and out 2017-12-03T12:17:49+00:00

Our Yoga retreat is set in breath-taking surroundings ,which in themselves promise to have a life-affirming effect on your soul, the trip doesn’t only take you on a geographical, but also deeper journey inside. Connecting with nature takes us back to our alpha mind state allowing you to feel grounded and earthily blissful. Nature has a way of setting you back in tune with your natural rhythm and the world around you that no other thing has. Exploring the depths of your soul, darkest corners of your heart and brightest spots of your soul can open your life up to boundless new opportunities.

Letting go of fears to unlock your true potential 2017-12-03T12:18:17+00:00

In a safe environment supported by an experienced teacher and like-minded people it is easier to dissolve suppressed fears and past traumas to unlock our true potential and take our post-retreat life as close to our dreams as possible.

Taking real time off 2017-12-03T12:18:45+00:00

Sometimes you can go on a holiday, but phones and laptops continue to beep. Amongst all that digital noise switching off can be a real challenge. It is of utmost importance for your health to every now and then take some time off the tremendous media input we are usually exposed to. Modern science shows that digital waves can have a detrimental effect on our mental, emotional and physical well-being. Giving the body-mind a break from the constant lightning-fast information overflow will give you a whole new perspective on life’s worries and issues.

Return Home refreshed and renewed 2017-12-03T12:19:17+00:00

Rather than coming back home feeling the need for another holiday, you’ll be ready to conquer the world and bring the relaxation back home with you. Who knows, newly gained outlook and vigour might even encourage you to change your career, clean out the clutter in your attic or open up to a new relationship.

Your retreat home is Firefly, a luxurious Caribbean residence situated within the grounds of BodyHoliday, offering you the very best of both worlds.

TAKE A LOOK AT YOUR RETREAT RETREAT

Eat Well. Live Well.

Since the goal of our retreats is to lead our guests to an entire lifestyle change, food and nutrition are pivotal to each program.

Nutrition and the preparation of wholesome healthy and delicious meals is a significant element of all of our retreats. Eating well is going to be successful when it becomes part of a way of life. Not only when it comes to preparing meals at home, but also how to integrate your goals with the rest of the family needs. It relates to what you need to stock your larder on a weekly basis and even to learn how to choose from menus when you go out to dinner. Teaching our retreat guests all of this and more is our goal at our retreats.

She is passionate about all that Yoga brings into one’s life, the health of our planet, & all things wild. If she’s not doing yoga you can find her reading a book, drinking some green juice, or playing in the wilds of nature with her loving partner, Joaquin.
“Yoga is the unifying art of transforming dharma into action, be it through inspired thought, properly nurturing our children, a painting, a kindness or an act of peace. “
